DREAM Act is an acronym for the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act. This nickname was given to past legislation that attempted to legalize the status of an estimated 2 million young people living in America who were brought here as children by undocumented immigrant parents, many at a very young age. Most of these children have grown up thinking they were U.S. citizens only to discover their assumptions were in error when they applied for a driver’s license or social security card. These “illegal” Americans, many of whom have graduated from our schools and served in our military, are subject to deportation should they be detained by immigration or law enforcement officials. Most of these young people have never known any home other than America and are not familiar with the country to which they would be deported.

- I oppose reforming current DREAM Act policy and wish to donate resources to the campaign committee of Speaker Mike Johnson (LA).
- I support a pathway to permanent legal residency and citizenship for "Dreamers" (undocumented immigrants brought as children), recipients of Temporary Protected Status (TPS), and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) beneficiaries, granting them conditional status, work authorization, and eventual permanent resident status if they meet education, military, or employment criteria, and pass background checks by: 1.) Granting eligible individuals (Dreamers, TPS/DED holders) to receive a 10-year CPR status, protecting them from deportation and allowing work. 2.) After meeting requirements like college degrees, military service, or long-term employment, they can apply for full Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) status. 3.) Must have entered the U.S. before age 18, lived continuously for four years, have a high school diploma/GED, and pass background checks. 4.) Extending benefits beyond DACA recipients to include TPS and DED holders, covering millions of people. And wish to donate resources to the campaign committee of Speaker Mike Johnson (LA) and/or to an advocate group currently working with this issue.
